Colour Difference
The Reality of Paint vs. Screen
At Zebra City, we want you to have the best experience when bringing your custom paint by numbers kit to life. However, it's important to understand that what you see on your screen may not look exactly the same as your final painting.
Why Colours May Look Different
The colours on your device's screen are bright and backlit, often appearing more vibrant than physical paint. Factors like screen settings (brightness, contrast, saturation) and the type of device you're using (phone, tablet, or computer) can create differences between the digital preview and your actual painting. While we do our best to match colours as closely as possible, slight variations are a normal part of the process when converting digital images into real paint.
What This Means for Your Order
By placing an order with Zebra City, you acknowledge that minor differences in colour and detail between the digital preview and the finished painting may occur.
We want you to love your kit, but because these variations are a natural part of the paint by numbers process, we cannot offer refunds based solely on slight colour differences or detail variations.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to our team before placing your order we’re happy to help!
From Photo to Painting: What to Expect
How your chosen kit impacts the final artwork
Your custom paint by numbers kit is based on the image you provide, but the level of detail depends on the number of colours in your kit. More colours mean a closer match to the original image, while fewer colours create a more simplified version.
- 24 Colours: A basic level of detail—great for bold, simple designs, but some finer details may be softened.
- 36 Colours: A well-balanced option—captures most details while keeping the painting process smooth.
- 48 Colours: The highest level of detail—ideal for intricate images with subtle shading and contrast.
At Zebra City, we do our best to recreate your image as accurately as possible. However, because this is a paint by numbers experience, slight variations in shading and detail are a natural part of the artistic process.
Why This Happens
How images are transformed into paint by numbers kits
When converting an image into a paint by numbers kit, some details are simplified to make the painting process smooth and enjoyable. Highly intricate areas may be adjusted to ensure a balanced design that’s easy to follow.
Our goal at Zebra City is to capture the essence of your image while keeping the experience fun, stress-free, and rewarding. While some fine details may be softened, the result is always a stunning, hand painted version of your favourite photo created by you!
